Last night Calgary was able to take home a vital road win and is back in their house looking for the win in front of their home crowd. Game 5 saw the Steven Jalopski (retiring end of season) net the game winning goal as Calgary became the first team to win back to back games this series.

Hello and welcome to this early SHL Playoff Matchup between the Texas Renegades and the Calgary Dragons. We’re coming to you live from outside the Pengrowth Saddledome where fans are already lining up and boozing up for what should be a great game.

Following an exciting road win by the Dragons to break the 2-2 series tie we find ourselves back in Calgary for what could be the final game of the season. The biggest storyline this season has been Steven Jalopski’s farewell tour to the SHL. This will be his last home game against the Texas Renegades, a team he has bitterly feuded with publically for many seasons, and if things go wrong for the Dragons in the next two games this will be Jalopski’s last home game ever.

With so much history pent up between the two teams it is unsurprising that some of Texas’ players have stated publically that they want to be ones to put an end to the long time Dragon’s career. Texas forward Travis Kudleychuk had this to say before the game: “For me it’s so much more than winning a playoff series. It’s beating the man. Everyone in our Locker Room wants Jalopski’s last game to be a crushing game 7 loss in Texas.”

As you can tell the rivalry is as fierce as ever. We’ll be back in just a minutes with your starting lineups and puck drop.
