HYFR WE'RE DOING THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW
<center> ![]() ![]() SERIES KNIGHTS (2 - 0) IMPACT</center> This series was supposed to be tight, and Montreal were the odds-on favorites coming into it, but thus far, the Impact have been...well, not very impactful, to say the least. Vive L'Impact? Perhaps someone got that wrong and said "Meure" instead. Long story short, the regular season champs have disappointed their home fans and dug themselves a pretty big hole. If they win tonight, they've taken the first step towards making this series exciting...if not, Kelowna's just one win away from a Four Star victory. Starting Lineups The visitors: At left wing, CHRIS WELCH! At center, EVANDRUS JESSTER! At right wing, ADAM FALK! On defense, ROMAN MORENOV and his partner JASPER CLAYTON! And in goal, EARNEST CIARELLI! Ladies and gentlemen, your Kelowna Knights! At left wing, RANDY RANDLEMAN! At center, KRISTJAN VILHJALMSSON! At right wing, MIRKO ANTONIO SCUDERI! On defense, STACKER PENTECOST and his partner MARIA MAXIMOVA! And in goal, CHRISTOFFER BJORNSSON! ![]() Registered S8, S9, S35 Challenge Cup Champion

FIRST PERIOD - PART ONE
The puck is dropped, and Vilhjalmsson wins the draw! He tosses it to Scuderi, who carries it into the Impact's zone! His teammates are racing to join him, Vilhjalmsson's got the screen, Scuderi fires... ....it bounces off Vilhjalmsson... ...AND IN! HE SCORES! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Code: 1. Kelowna Knights , Kristjan Vilhjalmsson 6 (Mirko Antonio Scuderi) at 0:10 That's right, the first goal of the game came off the first shot on goal, when the puck has touched just two players' sticks. Ten seconds in and this is not looking good for Montreal. A minute later, Kelowna's third line is on the ice. Chamas gets his stick on the puck, then dumps it into Montreal's territory, but DÃ¥hlssen is there to retrieve it! Chamas doesn't like that one bit and runs him over, knocking him off the puck. DÃ¥hlssen gets it back, but meanwhile the refs decide that was a step too far, and the Impact have the first powerplay of the game! Naeem Chamas (KEL) for Roughing (Minor) at 1:25 Karpotsov wins the faceoff and it's a textbook powerplay from there: Karpotsov to Burch to Flacko to Falk to Karpotsov to Wolff to Falk to Burch to Flacko who shoots... ...but Bjornsson makes the save! The remainder of the penalty's killed off easily; Bjornsson makes just one more save (on Grundmanis) before the teams return to even strength. Despite the lack of shots, they're all Montreal's--it's early, and it seems like they're in this hockey game yet. Around the third minute, they capitalize on a bad line change by Kelowna and O'Leary gets the puck. He passes to Burch, to Karpotsov, who shoots... ..but Bjornsson gloves it easily! Kelowna's top line take the ice, Vilhjalmsson wins the draw, passes to Randleman, who dumps it into the Impact's zone--and then absolutely destroys Falk when he tries to take possession. Falk is slow to get up, but there's no whistle, and play continues; Randleman picks it up, passes to Veenstra, who shoots... ...and SCORES! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Code: 2. Kelowna Knights , Matt Veenstra 4 (Randy Randleman) at 3:49 Maybe Kelowna's not taking very many shots, but man, they're making them count. Welch is understandably frustrated with his team's leaky defense and takes a dumb slashing penalty, and now it's the Knights with the man advantage. Their fans cheer, bloodthirsty; what's that old saying about beating a dead hockey team? Chris Welch (MTL) for Slashing (Minor) at 5:09 Jesster wins the faceoff, dishes to Wolff, who dumps it into Kelowna's zone and goes for a change. Meanwhile, Bjornsson gets his stick on it, passes to Whooves, to Ogorodnikov, who streaks down the ice, all alone, and fires... ...but it's blocked by Jesster. Veenstra collects the loose puck and tries for his second of the game... ...but his shot is blocked too, this time by Grundmanis. Lundberg gets it next and gives it a go--is the third time going to be the charm? ...YES IT IS! HE SCORES! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Code: 3. Kelowna Knights , Jonathan Lundberg 7 (Matt Veenstra, Ivar Ogorodnikov) at 5:24 (PP) Five minutes in and the Knights are up 3-0! Impact fans across the country are turning off their TVs in disgust. ![]() Registered S30, S31 and S33 Challenge Cup Champion and Brigade Leader Quote:Originally posted by Eggy's Multi@Oct 6 2015, 10:44 PM Probably best you didn't o:-) ![]() Registered selamat pagi Quote:Originally posted by lil@Oct 6 2015, 10:58 PM fook. ![]() ![]() san francisco group of cats - mikael koskinen quebec city citadelz - mikael koskinen ![]() Registered S30, S31 and S33 Challenge Cup Champion and Brigade Leader
FIRST PERIOD - PART TWO
The seventh minute is notable only because Ciarelli makes his first save of the game, on a Maximova slapshot that hits him right in the chest. He would have had to actually get out of the way of the puck to miss it, but it seems like anything's possible in this game. There's not much action for either side until the end of the ninth minute, when Wolff makes a bad situation worse for the Impact by taking a roughing penalty. Alexander Wolff (MTL) for Roughing (Minor) at 9:52 The first minute passes without a shot on goal for either side, until Pentecost gets the puck into Impact territory, passes to Scuderi, who shoots... ...it bounces off Vilhjalmsson (is recent history going to repeat itself?)... ...nope! Looks like Ciarelli won't make the same mistake twice, because he's not fooled, and gloves this one right away. The eleventh minute, the powerplay is almost killed off, Maximova carries the puck back into Montreal's zone, passes to Vilhjalmsson, to Randleman, back to Maximova, who shoots... ...and hits the post! Vilhjalmsson grabs the rebound and whacks at it... ...and it slips in under Ciarelli's pads! HE SCORES! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Code: 4. Kelowna Knights , Kristjan Vilhjalmsson 7 (Maria Maximova, Randy Randleman) at 11:47 (PP) That's Kelowna's fourth goal on eight shots, and Ciarelli is out of here. With two and a half periods left to play, Andersson is in goal for Montreal! With things looking dire, Montreal settles things down a bit. Karpotsov wins the faceoff, passes to Clayton, to Flacko, to Karpotsov, who shoots... ...and SCORES! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Code: 5. Montreal Impact , Evgeni Karpotsov 2 (Lord Pretty Flacko, Jasper Clayton) at 12:06 It's still 4-1 Knights, but the Impact might just be in this yet! Especially when Whooves takes a dumb penalty just 20 seconds later. Dr. Timeturner Whooves (KEL) for Roughing (Minor) at 12:25 Can Montreal cut their deficit to two goals on this powerplay? ![]() Registered S15, S16, S24, S34, S38 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered S15, S16, S24, S34, S38 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered S30, S31 and S33 Challenge Cup Champion and Brigade Leader
FIRST PERIOD - PART THREE
The puck changes teams in the neutral zone a couple times before it's dumped into Montreal's zone, just past the goal. Andersson retrieves it, passes to Welch, to Gerrard, to Clayton in the Knights' zone, who shoots.... ...and it's blocked by Vanaja. Gerrard picks it up, shoots... ...but it goes just wide! Then it's Welch's turn with a sick wrister... ...HE SCORES! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Code: 6. Montreal Impact , Chris Welch 6 (Michael Gerrard, Jasper Clayton) at 12:54 (PP) That's playoff hockey right there, turning a 4-0 game into a 4-2 game with nothing but a goaltender substitution and some good old fashioned grit! The rest of the period feels pretty tame after that intense first half; Maximova gets a penalty... Maria Maximova (KEL) for Holding (Minor) at 16:14 But it generates only two shots, one of which Koroviev blocks, the other Bjornsson falls on. The last shot of the period is in the 18th minute, courtesy of Gerrard... ...but Ziggler lays down to block it, and not long after, the buzzer sounds. PERIOD RECAP ![]() :impact: 2 Code: Goals for this period are 2 for Montreal Impact vs 4 for Kelowna Knights. |
