Welcome to the Eastern Conference Finals of the S23 SHL Challenge Cup Playoffs between the defending champions, the
Manhattan Rage and the team desperate for playoff success the
New England Wolfpack. The Rage managed to just squeak into a playoff spot as Toronto imploded down the stretch and faced off against the 1st seed in the east in a offensive juggernaut of a team in the Hamilton Steelhawks. The Rage quickly found themselves in a hole down 3-1 but came back in an inspired team effort to take the series to 7 and win it. The Wolfpack on the other hand were yet again quite successful in the regular season tied for 2nd in the east with 61 points and matched up against Minnesota in the first round. New England went into Minnesota and stole both games on the road to start the series off 2-0 before losing 2 straight at home to make it a 3 game series. They managed to buckle down and win two straight and were the only team to not have to go to 7 games this playoffs which might give them the advantage in rest and condition.
