Here we are in Edmonton for Game 6 of this western conference showdown! The Blizzard have a 3-2 lead in the series and have earned a chance to take this series at home against the heavily favorited Seattle Riot. Can the Blizzard end this series tonight? Or will Seattle extend this series and force a game 7 in Seattle? We'll all find out tonight!

Finally, we are ready for the opening faceoff. Keenan wins the opening faceoff for Edmonton and they get it in deep. Winnfield ices the puck and we have our first stoppage in play.

Winter wins the following faceoff and Seattle quickly works up the ice. Both teams attempt line changes while the puck continues to be carried through the neutral zone. Winter passes to Parker who is fresh off the bench. Parker moves it along to King who shoots...

But Aittokallio gloves that one and we have our first save of the game.

About a minute later, the Blizzard are working it up towards Rose. Longford carries it into the zone and shoots from the high slot... but it's blocked!!!

Cezar Jr makes the block but Longford grabs the loose puck and skates behind the net. He goes for the wraparound but Rose is too fast for that and sticks his pads out to make the save.

However the puck trickles out right in front of the goal! Berger picks it up for Blizzard and he is all alone!

But Swerin comes out of nowhere and nails him to the ice! Wow what a hit! And Seattle is able to clear the puck.
#11

About halfway through the first period, Edmonton had established a strong presence in the offensive zone. Vilmenietis passes to Paurs who passes to Muerto.

Muerto lines his shot up... but it goes well wide. Muerto collects his own loose puck and goes to shoot again...
#12

Ping!

Muerto misses the net by barely an inch and our score remains 0-0.
#13

About two minutes later, Seattle's defense collects the puck in their own zone and begins to move it up the ice. Swerin passes to Ja'Far Dar in the neutral zone, however he gets hooked from behind! Klando is going to the sinbin and Seattle gets their first powerplay opportunity!

Code:
Mikhail Klando (EDM) for Hooking (Minor) at 13:52

Vilmenietis wins the opening faceoff and Edmonton is able to get the puck out of their zone early into the penalty. With about 45 seconds left in the penalty, Edmonton clears again all the way down into Seattle's zone.

King Tut grabs the loose puck for Seattle and moves the puck to Perron. Perron skates into the neutral zone and makes a long pass to Thomas King. King carries the puck into the offensive zone by himself... He has Perron on the other side for this 2-on-2..
