Finishing up season in this post. I will write as I sim.

So to start. Chicago put up a former first round pick on waivers. He is 3 and a half stars and still has a chance at playing in the NHL. He was rushed way to early by Chicago however and that may of hurt his development.

BUF claims (73) C Marko Vahalahti off waivers from CHI.

I like the guy, he will get first line minutes in the AHL for the remainder of the season and hopefully that is enough to turn him into a border line NHL player. If not I will just keep him and play him down there ....

As I mentioned above I am thinking of trying to acquire Nail Yakupov in the off-season. Our top six has one sniper in it and thats Mikhail Grigorenko. All the other player's are playmakers and that doesn't work for me. So possibly expect a big trade in the off-season.

Now Montreal just put up a former 2nd round pick. He is also 3 1/2 stars and 73 overall. I think he also has an outside chance at the NHL and decided to claim him. He played in the NHL this season and had decent stats so hopefully that leads to him becoming an actual NHL player. (he's a Brit)

Anyway's hopefully he can become around 77-81 overall.. I gave Frk and Teravainen a little look on the big club earlier this season and put them on my first line to make sure they would get points. Hopefully by next season the development will of improved from past seasons.

(BTW Klefbom is in the AHL this season. He has regressed a ton since I acquired him he's 79 overall now. Usually when I send down regressed players to the AHL and give them tons of minutes they get back to normal, so hopefully the same from Klefbom)

Season from there was sooth sailing. Recovered from Shinkaruk's injury and have absolutely no injury's for playoffs..Our Sabres finished the season 48-30-4 for 100 points good for 2nd in the East. Our first round opponent is the Toronto Maple Leafs. They won the cup in the first season and still have the core of the team in place. (Kessel, JVR, Phanuef, Rielly, Gardiner). There starting goalie is Karsten Pankhurst. He's 84 overall. OMG LEAFS ACTUALLY HAVE A GOOD GOALIE.

Series preview: Montreal is a team with a cinderella story. Their forward group has 4 players over 80.(83)Pacioretty, (86) Leblanc, (81) Foligno and (82) Lars Eller. They will have to rely heavily on one of the best goalies in hockey in Carey Price if they are going to upset the Buffalo Sabres.

Stanley Cup Finals preview: The Los Angeles Kings are a team that hasn't really changed from the 2011-12 SC win. They still have the stars in Kopitar, Richards, Carter, Doughty, Quick etc etc.. They also have had some players develop into usefull players including (85) Jordan Weal and (84) Thomas Hickey... Both teams have great goaltenders and how both preform is going to be a huge decider in who wins this series

This is going to be the biggest off-season we have ever had so be prepared....

Anyway's i'll start with possibly my last draft with the Sabres.

(11) **** Richard Houdek: When I drafted Richard my scouts said he was a 3 and a half star. It surprised me while I was going to sign him that he was actually a four star. That means he has a good chance at becoming a top six forward for us.

(30) *** 1/2: Abraham McKenzie: A Swiss goaltender who is 6'5. I decided I was kind of low on goaltending depth passed Mrazek so I went out and drafted one. Hopefully he can develop into a 80-84 goaltender.

I think the first two picks of this round were two of my best. Both have a really good chance at becoming NHL players.

Resigning is going to hurt like a bitch. All my player's want so much that I might have to dismantle parts of the team to even make it close to the cap. Anyway's as I said I wanted to trade for Yakupov. Sadly when I looked at what Edmonton had just resigned him for (9.5) their was no way I was going to be able to fit him under cap. So I traded for another one of their stars. It probably was overpayment but I needed another centre. I don't usually (if ever) trade my first but I think in this deal it was justified.

Before you start criticizing these deals please note that I am going all in and don't need picks. Huberdeau also wanted 11 million. I found a cheaper option in a player with a salary of 5 million.

Ok, so the team is 20-7 through 27 games for 40 points. We are currently 1st in the league and 6 points ahead of the next closest team (8 in East)...Shinkaruk and Granlund are 1/2 in NHL scoring with 34/33 points respectively. Shinaruk is 2nd in goals and Granlund is first in assists. So far it's been a pretty good season but have key injuries such as Bouillon (2 weeks), Galchenyuk (5 weeks) and Klefbom (7 weeks)..So far that hasn't hurt us at all however and we are on a 7 game winning streak, We were on a 5 game winning streak right before this one. Hopefully we can keep up the success.
