Yah I may of, looking back at the Miller deal I definitely didn't get what I could have. I like Huberdeau though and he's broken 90 overall before for me so hopefully he can do the same in this sim Tongue ..

Fair enough. Losing two top 4 defenders and two 2nds is tough, though.

Yeah definitely, I am thinking I can get two dmen that are around the same as the two I traded in free agency though. I didn't like moving the two 2nd's but hopefully Hubs can level this trade out in the future.

To TB
(** half Yellow)Steven Shipley

To BUF
TB 2013 3rd

Also a waiver pick up in Ian Cole(****) who gives me an already quite good defensive defencemen

Draft time, I drafted

LW/RW Sniper Hunter Shinkaruk 5th overall (**** 1/2)

LW/RW Power Forward Bo Horvat 15th Overall (**** 1/2)

D Defensive Dman Linden Springer 80th overall (*** 1/2)

The rest probably won't turn out or will be AHL lifers so I will leave them out.

I like this draft quite a bit. Hunter Shinkaruk (77) will be a top liner for years to come and Bo Horvat will likely follow him up on the second line.

In free agency we signed

Teuvo Teravainen
Rob Scuderi
Evgeni Nabokov

I'll update lines in a sec, Huberdeau is 85 overall, yay!

Nice move on teravainen. He was my second rounder and he's got solid potential but starts at 55. Young though and I like him.

Idk, I think I had a pretty good draft and Huberdeau/Grigorenko/Girgensons were also there before him. I like Teravainen a lot though.

I think my prospect depth increased a ton with the additions of Shinkaruk/Horvat. I need to definetely look into acquiring dman going into the future.

Myers-Pysyk (**** 1/2) Will most likely be my first pairing in the future however it could be subject to change if I see something I like better.

Anyway's this updates involves no trades because I don't want to be pressured into making bad deals everytime I give an update. Although I did have another waiver pickup

Colten Teubert(****)

Currently very solid defenceman for the AHL team, although I am thinking of calling him up and sending Pysyk down.

We are playing a lot better then I thought we would be at this point.

14-16-1

I am trying to move Vanek but his value is so damn low that im not sure if its better for us to keep or move him. He can consistently put up 30+ goals with the occasional 40+ goal season..

Anyway's I am currently open to suggestions Smile

EDIT: Just picked up a great addition, through waivers again. Josh Gorges (84). Basically the whole on defence I had when I made the Huberdeau trade is now gone! I've definitely been getting quite lucky with the waiver wire! So it looks like I will be sending down Pysyk as soon as all my injuries clear up.

Ok, so just made a pretty massive trade. I was looking through the trade blocks and found him. It's a trade that I think definitely benefits us going forward into the future. I know we have a ton of centre depth but I guess you could call it "a good problem to have"...For some reason Montreal had him on the block and I think I got him at a pretty reduced price.

To BUF
(****1/2)Alex Galchenyuk

To MTL
(****)Marcus Foligno
Sabres 2014 4th

So now we have Girgensons, Grigorenko, and Galchenyuk. The 3 Gs I guess you could call them  ...

Anyways at the allstar break our Sabres are currently 20-24-3 ..Again pretty surprised at where we are in the standings...Our leading scorer Vanek has 10 goals  ..I think our wins are coming from not only Nabokov's play but our solid defence.

BTW Gerbe was the only Sabre to make the ASG

I've signed Teravainen in one of my leagues as well but he has 59 there, does he get any good or is the low starting point holding him back too much?

Edit: How do guys like Gorges end up on Waivers in your game ?

And I wouldn't trade Vanek this season, his value probably is only so low because he still makes 7+ million but his contract is expiring. Extend him in the Offseason and his value should improve quite a bit.

No clue about Teravainen, he's been playing in AHL all season and just finished my first season so we'll see how he and a couple others progressed...

Keep me updated Wink. I'm waiting for a development jump from quite a few of my AHL-guys, but i'm only half-way through my second season and I'm playing every game myself...

Oh and a general question: How strong do players with two and a half stars usually get?-Since they make up most of the picks in the later rounds of the Drafts I wanted to know if they are actually worth taking a closer look at, where do they usually end up? Around 70? 75? Or have some of them the chance to become even better?

No clue, don't play BAGM much, play more HOckey Ultimate Team. I usually just go for the random guys that fall for no reason in the game (Rielly, Galchenyuk) so yeah. It's probably a crapshoot and majority are career AHL'ers.

Continuing on. I just passed the deadline and again made no moves. Their was nothing available to me that wouldn't of costed me more then I was willing to pay. Although again I did pluck another usefull vet off of waivers

(82) Brendan Morrow

I think Brendan will either be leadership material going forward or be shipped out for something in the offseason. Still haven't decided but either way he's a awesome top 9 forward.

Team has started slowing and are now 26-34-5
