The Knights look to do what the Armada couldn't: score a goal on the powerplay.

The puck is passed back and forth deftly between Kelowna's defenders, and a cross-ice pass finds Kalevolaripaavo Kaspertommevisnapuu open on the right side of the zone. He shoots!

But Venables bats it away! The Canadian-born goaltender had to be quick to stop that one.

Kelowna are unable to mount another chance with the man advantage and Cvitkovich leaves the box after serving his two minutes.

The quality of the game in the second period has taken a downturn as the Knights find themselves unable to stay out of the penalty box. Once again, the Armada will go on the powerplay after Danila Zhernov gets called for Holding.

The first half of the powerplay sees little action, as the Knights defenders have apparently grown accustomed to Anchorage's zone-entry strategies.

With thirty seconds remaining, however, Cyril Vyskoc wins a face-off versus Ryan Shepard in the Anchorage zone and quickly gets into gear on a counterattack.

Vyskoc holds the puck while storming down the left side, stopping up cleverly to create some space between himself and the Knights D.

He dishes it to Danny White, who fakes a shot and then slides the puck to Jake Primeau. Primeau shoots!

Everyone in the arena is wondering how that stayed out! Luca Del Vecchio even finds himself staring at the jumbotron to see if he got a piece of it, and after several replays, we finally see one slow enough to show the puck just barely grazing the top of his left pad.

Primeau looks skyward, and the Armada look frustrated by the close-call but know they're only a goal down.

The period ends with the same score as when it began: Kelowna 2 - 1 Anchorage.

The Knights have to be feeling fortunate to get out of that one with the lead.

Shots in the second period: Anchorage 9, Kelowna 2

The ice has been cleared.

The players are back after a tense intermission here in Kelowna.

The coaches are full of Pepto.

It's time for the 3rd period of the 3rd game of the S51 Four Star Cup Finals.

It doesn't take long for the action to start back up!

Mitchell van der Heijden wins a face-off against Ryan Shepard in the Knights zone, and after a couple of passes between the Armada forwards, he rips a shot on Luca Del Vecchio that goes wide of the net.

Daniel Bischoff picks up the loose puck and sends his own shot in on goal, but it, too, misses.

Stan Hanson takes matters into his own hands and tries to send the puck through the mass of bodies piled up in front of the Knights goal but it can't get through!

There's a scramble, and the referee looks like he's about to call the play dead when Jake Primeau finds it and snaps a surprise shot on an unsuspecting Luca Del Vecchio!

But Primeau just can't seem to catch Del Vecchio off his game. The Italian netminder gets a blocker down on the puck and jumps on the rebound to smother it. A good start from Anchorage, but they need to do a better job of finishing.
