@"Eggy216" Please answer.

Recruitment team was talking about ways to boost donations to get us recruits from different areas. Reddit hasn't been as nice to us lately and they wanted to see if we could maybe get some ads somewhere. This is merely a place where we hoped to gather possible ideas but most skipped to OP and instead are complaining about Pay to Win lol.
Any ideas as to why Reddit is being less friendly recently?

Every SIM league is now using reddit as there primary recruiting resource. The place has been watered down.

I think Reddit is getting bogged down with the sheer amount of sim leagues looking to post and they are going to say no more frequently. The recruitment team mentioned Google and YouTube as possible options but we wanted to see if people had an idea on how to increase donation amounts.

Honestly of all the incentive ideas in this thread, a single PT Pass per season is probably my favorite. You don't get an advantage that other players can't earn with work, and it's something valuable enough that people with less time would want it.

My biggest concern is, how would that impact our PT reciprocity agreement with NSFL and PBE? Would they be willing to accept a PT Pass as a welfare check? If not, we lose a big piece of the site's most dedicated audience as potential donors.

Fantasy sports sites. It’s a small jump from fantasy hockey to SIM for those managers.

I'm fine if people want to paying money for rewards if it has the following criteria:

  1. It doesn't allow for additional TPE earning opportunities. (Pay $5 a week and claim 5 TPE instead of 2 for ACs)
  2. It doesn't include additional advantages that can't be attained without spending money (Spend $10 and that season you can boost an additional attribute to 99)
  3. It doesn't allow players to obtain TPE more quickly than non-paying members(spend $20 and claim all capped TPE at the beginning of the season)
  4. It doesn't affect other competitive regulations (Buying money which would allow users to care less about salary, which could affect competitive balance of the teams)

Basically, I'm fine with paying for PTs as long as they don't get credit from the PT until everyone else does. It doesn't give "pay-to-win" players any advantage over "free-to-play" players other than time spent doing the PTs. It also has no affect on the eco-system of the site like paying for money would. It would be almost identical to PT affiliation.

Last Saturday of every month we do a $0.69 TPE night, with a max limit of 420 TPE per month.

We do doubles week where you can double your total TPE for a flat rate that only changes according to the position of the moon that day.

Also should be a luxury option that gets you as many TPE as Tomen earns per season, but this is different since you send eggy skin flakes to pile into our own megazord, and we use it to advertise the league.

Hm, I think you could be able to pick something like one of the following:

A) Remove the PT Cap (2-3 Extra TPE per season if you max earn, would draw us TPE whores)
B) 1 Uncapped TPE (basically nothing but again feels like something)
C) $3 million (pays for 3 weeks of training, not that much)

I feel like this would work for people unlike the crazy rewards in VHL/SBA, but I’m just spitballing

And if it is to cover site maintenance that is a recurring cost and not everyone will want to keep giving money. I'm fine without giving incentives to donate, but I do feel a small one will give people more of a reason to give money.

where do i go to currently donate?

Any type of donation that makes it easier to build your player should be no go. All falls under the same category of pay to win. Just have it so you get forum improvements like it shows that you were a donator. I believe there is enough people who would just be happy to be able to contribute to keep the site running without needing any rewards.

The NSFL actually has a PT pass per season that's given to job holders like Simmer or PT team, I can't imagine it would be all that different. A SHL user would just have to link to their comment that says PT pass.

Personally i would love to be able to donate to skip PTs, most of the time i have very limited access to computers and writing PTs on the phone is death.

Money however is something i have a surplus of.

Allot of the ideas are interesting, but shouldn’t we first try the options that cause the least amount of controversy?
