Poll: Should we keep the PT cap?

Would you rather we keep it or eliminate it?

We'd have to play with numbers to keep things a little more balanced, but it would alleviate some confusion (Marius rule) and generally simplify the updating experience for everyone.

There's a few other things that would go along with this, but looking for feedback on this first because it's the first domino in line.

EDIT: Just because I've said it a few times in the thread and it seems smart to put it here, there was 42 capped available last season (2 more than the cap) not including milestone claims, which is one of the things which would be reworked for the other dominoes.

what about slightly increasing cap? keeping everything the same, raising cap from 40 to like 45?

It was raised not too long ago from 35 to 40, so at a certain point the question becomes whether it's best to just get rid of it (and raising it doesn't really resolve the issues with the Marius rule is causing/ease the transition between SMJHL and SHL). Plus there was 42 capped TPE available last season, excluding milestones, so it wouldn't really do anything without adding more PT opportunities.

It's no guarantee if/when things will happen, but it's good to know where the league's at on these things.

Capped TPE is just plain annoying in general. How far over the cap is it even theoretically possible to go right now?

Can't let people go wild with TPE, if you're saying that. the 40 cap is fine and I don't quite understand the issue.

Without milestones, 2.

Milestones obviously make that number far higher, but that's one of the things that would be changing if we went the route of getting rid of the cap. But like I said, first domino is the TPE cap.

But what if the amount of "capped" TPE available is already around 40? It's not about increasing the amount of TPE available, it's more about making the experience of earning TPE simpler. It wouldn't allow people to go wild with TPE.

I would say get rid of it so long as it would not lead to significant amount that can be earned by its removal. I'd say if we keep the same 40 ballpark we currently operate but allow for everything to be earnable it can boost participation. I would just not want this to cause a flood of TPE into the system.

The reason for removing the cap would be because it can be confusing and doesn't really do its job. It also hampers people who want or have tried to code things for updating in the past.

Then let's absolutely do it. Most people aren't claiming more than 4 or 5 TPE off milestones anyway.
