Goody gets caught out of position though, and takes a Hooking penalty. Stryker with a quick shot off the draw that is turned away by Aittokallio. Thomaz gets a feed from Biscuit, but he too rings it off the post! No puck luck for the Platoon tonight! Lemar scoops up the puck, but fans on the shot and Aittokallio freezes it. Pettyfer off the faceoff, looking for number two! Deflected out of play by the veteran Finn! Great powerplay pressure by the Platoon, but no goal to show for it yet!

Smirnov misses the net but Szlerchek finds the puck and shovels it on target. Aittokallio turns it away, but it gets turned over to Biscuit who slaps it high blocker! Aittokallio just gets the knob of his goal stick on the shot, but Biscuit gets it back! This time Jakub is able to freeze play and give his defenders a breather. Wert takes a quick shot off the draw that forces another save from Aittokallio, but the puck is loose in the crease!

And the ref has confirmed a no-goal! Looks like incidental contact by Damien Wert on the Blizzard goalie so no penalty, but no goal either. Pejonis gets a quick opportunity off the ensuing faceoff, pad save Aittokallio! REBOUND… PEJONIS IS DENIED BY THE POST! The fans here can’t believe it, how have their Platoon not tied the game yet? Stryker is out of the box and the Blizzard are lucky to have killed off that penalty.

Bojo Biscuit directs the play from the blue line, sees an opening and tees up a shot! It’s just wide, but Birkavs tries to jam it in short side on Aittokallio, AND IT TRICKLES OVER THE LINE TO GIVE THE PLATOON THEIR FIRST LEAD OF THE GAME!!!!!

Smirnov ices the puck, leading to a defensive zone draw for the Platoon. Lundberg loses it to Kane, who takes a shot wide of the goal. Ratzon scoops up the loose puck behind the net and goes for a wraparound… AND IT SLIDES BETWEEN SCHMIDT’S LEGS!!!!!
