West Kendall is back to full strength, Willems finds Smirnov as he steps out of the box, it’s a two-on-one! Smirnov fakes the pass, and shoots! Aittokallio was sliding to the left but just manages to get a glove on the shot!

Flow tees up a shot that sails high and wide, but the puck skims around the boards to Biscuit. He’s got a clear shooting lane… snagged by Aittokallio who has definitely been the busier goaltender in this second period.

Pejonis, who has been silent so far, finds himself with the puck in the attacking zone! He cuts to the backhand and leans into the shot, which is kicked aside by Aittokallio. Pejonis gets it back and finds Stryker, denied by Aittokallio! Nobody can solve this terrific tendy!

Oliver Pettyfer gets the puck back, and fires a low shot on goal. IT SQUEAKS FIVE-HOLE, TIE GAME!!!!!

Pettyfer comes up clutch off a nice feed from Wert and we are knotted up at one goal apiece!

Scholz breaks into the West Kendall zone off the draw, and Schmidt turns him away. Back and forth hockey here as Szlerchek breaks up ice, but can’t find the net! Wert takes a shot that is frozen by Aittokallio.

1:00 – 2nd Period

Ratzon with it now for Edmonton, rejected by Schmidt! Salmon swings at the rebound and Schmidt just gets a toe on it! Thomaz with a shot in the dying seconds, but Aittokallio punches it away and the period expires.

West Kendall did a great job swinging the momentum in their favor, outshooting the Blizzard 17-8 in the frame, though Edmonton holds a 24-22 advantage on the shot clock so far. Both goalies at the top of their game, it’s a 1-1 tie here in Florida after 40!

Theo Kane wins the draw to begin the final period of regulation! It’s been a tight game, will we see overtime for the second time in as many nights? Salmon takes a low shot that Schmidt kicks into the corner. Muller picks it up and tries a sharp-angle shot, blocked by Wagner. The shot-block bounces to Windsor, WHO RIPS A SCREAMER OVER SCHMIDT’S GLOVE!!!!!

Birkavs takes a shot wide as West Kendall tries to tie it back up, and behind the play Fife Gibbs takes a frustrating penalty, he was cross-checking Karpotsov. Chuck Goody takes a shot, Kane screening Schmidt gets a piece of it but it bounces off Schmidt’s leg pad and wide. JRT with it now, and he has a shot blocked by Biscuit, but he gets it back and finds Goody again. Goody with a drive… blocker save Schmidt!

Maximova controls the puck as she kills the Gibbs penalty. She hits the blue line and takes a shot that goes just wide. Maximova battles for the loose puck and wins, she shoots! POST! The crowd gasps in exasperation as she finds iron.
