We just witnessed some terrific penalty killing by the USA, and Scandinavia just couldn't get any good chances through to Cain. Several minutes pass before Waffles Man gets the puck along the boards and moves to the slot! He goes to shoot...

Another good penalty kill by the USA, but they have to be asking themselves if they can keep this up all game? In the Scandinavia zone, Metcalf Jr. takes a good shot but Vilde knocks it into the corner. Moore moves in to pin him to the boards, and Aittokallio kicks it to a teammate. It looks like Moore hasn't noticed as he continues to pin him... and we have ANOTHER penalty! Moore for holding, 2 minutes.

Scandinavian GMs have been bragging about their 4 man powerplay, but we have yet to see them put it in the back of the net. The powerplay begins and a failed clear attempt by the USA leads to Scandinavia getting set up here in the offensive zone. Toivenen over to Pingu, Pingu to Aittokallio. Looks.. doesn't see a lane, across ice to Skottson. Penalty killers are scrambling... Skottson looks.. looks... SNAPS ON NET!

Scandinavia is looking pumped after that goal, there is definitely some pep in their steps right now.. Tuttle ices it. Woah, looks like Wagstrom and Jacobs are having some words, and not nice ones at that. They're yelling at each other as they skate back to the faceoff circle.. the ref is skating over to- WOAH! Jacobs hits Wagstrom right in the collarbone! They're going to the box for that.. Wagstrom is heading to the bench to get that checked out, looks like it hurt.

Scandinavia gets ANOTHER chance on the powerplay this period, USA's coach will be fuming in the locker room during intermission. Kazarian wins the faceoff and dumps it down ice. Skottson picks it up, a nice bank pass to the waiting stick of Niemi, Taylor steps up and goes for the hit.. WHAT A MOVE BY NIEMI! THE PUCK ON A STRING! He has a clear path to the net now, forehand, toe drag, cain goes for the poke...

The arena is buzzing right now as it seems USA is desperate to get anything going. Rasmus Rasmus moves into the zone with ease, gets around McCarthy who doesn't like that very much, and reaches around with the stick! You've got to be fucking kidding me! Another penalty! The Scandinavia bench is grinning like sharks smelling blood..

They were able to hold off the Scandinavian attack for now.. but they have to do their best to stay out of the box before this gets.. embarrassing.. Looks like Taylor and Passamus are having some words at the bench during the TV timeout.. oh they've grabbed each other, do we have a fight on our hands? Taylor might be looking to spark something for his team.. Fantobens skates up and pushes Taylor straight on his ass! The ref skates in.. looks like its just Fantobens going to the box and the USA gets their first chance on the powerplay.

They are just gassed to end the period and muster 1 shot on Vilde during the whole PP. The horn signals the end of the period, shots are 12-6 Scandinavia and the score is 2-0 for the Euros.

We start the second period with some good zone time by the USA cycling and getting decent chances but Vilde comes up big. Fisterbottom sends it up to a forward and out of the zone and tries to skate to the bench.. but Mclovin is holding the back of his jersey and not letting him move! What is he doing?! The ref saw that.. Mclovin takes another penalty, this time holding.

The Scandinavian powerplay is looking for their third goal of the night, and only 21 minutes have passed. Aittokallio wins the face off and passes to Skottson, who passes back to Aittokallio. Wagstrom is all alone by the right dot, Aittokallio dishes it right on the tape! A CLAPPER!
