Face-off in the Anaheim zone, and Danny Marston beats Kevin Robinson. Flash Gordon has the puck on the blue line; he finds Marston, who sets up Zaporozhets. Zaporozhets takes the shot, but misses the net. The Scarecrows are passing the puck around in the Outlaws zone, and Meszaros and Hernadivic both manage to get a shot off. Chamberlain is looking solid early in this game though, and both shots are stopped without giving away a rebound. Thurber gets out of the box, and back onto the ice and crosses the ice for a change.

Zaporozhets skates the puck over the attacking blue line, and passes it to Danny Marston, who stands just inside the zone. Marston sees his line changing, and fires the puck along the boards, all the way round. Sasha Dangelcheck, who just jumped onto the ice from his bench and skated hard to help Danny out, picks up the puck right before it crosses the blue line and keeps it in the zone. He passes to Yamamoto Mitsuharu who lifts his stick for a shot!

Yompy Stearf sees the St Louis attacker getting ready for a shot, and puts his stick on the hands of Mitsuharu who loses control of the puck. The referee sees it and raises his arm for the second penalty of this game.

The Outlaws win the ensuing face-off in their endzone, and Petrenko dumps to puck. Marston picks it up and passes it up the ice to Ronlain. The puck is brought back into the Anaheim Outlaws endzone, but Petrenko intercepts a bad pass by Zaporozhets and dumps it back out again.
Gordon retrieves to puck, and Ronlain gets to move it back into their attacking end again. The puck is dumped into the corner by Marston so St Louis can bring out a fresh power play unit. [/pbl]

Chamberlain comes out of his crease to play the puck and puts it behind his net for Petrenko. Petrenko Dumps the puck behind the St Louis goal line again and the Outlaws go for a change as well.
Kasius dumps the puck in deep, and the first power play unit is back on the ice for St Louis. Dangelcheck and Marston exchange passes in front of the Anaheim net, but Dangelchecks shit is stopped by Chamberlain. Meszaros gets the rebound, but misses the net. The hard shot ricochets off the boards, and lands on Flash Gordon’s stick, but his quick shot misses the net as well. Robinson reclaims the puck for Anaheim and shoots it all the way to the other side to lift the pressure. [/pbl]

Strom Chamberlain is looking very strong again and with Ronlain’s shot missing the net as well, the Anaheim goalie hasn’t allowed a goal in the first 5 minutes of the game, despite the two penalties to his team.

We’re back to five on five hockey, and Yompy Stearf just blocked a shot by Alex Reyer. The puck ends up with rookie forward Kriss Darzins, who sees a chance to take a shot. Chamberlain catches the puck, and keeps it in his glove for a face-off.

Johansson wins the face-off, but is hit by Kris Darzins. He manages to get the puck to Ziggy Tambo, but his long pass to Pooks Halloway is intercepted by Borys Franciszek in the neutral zone. Franciszek skates it into the zone, and feeds it back to the blue line to Trevor Johnson. His shot doesn’t surprise Chamberlain, and we get another face-off.

The St Louis Scarecrows are really piling on the pressure here. The Outlaws already had to take two penalty to stop them off, and the Scarecrows already tested the Anaheim goalie a couple of times, but their own Elizabeth Doyle has not seen much action in front of her net yet.

Doyle now retrieves the puck, after the Outlaws dumped the puck again. Marian Elsner gets the puck from the goalie, and he sees Mitsuharu storming through center. With a nasty saucer pass, Elsner gets the puck on the stick of Mitsuharu just as he crosses the blue line. The linesman rules it no offsides, and Mitsuharu finds himself alone in front of Chamberlain, with only the goalie to beat. The St Louis attacker fakes a shot, pulls back the puck and tries to put it past the very strong playing Chamberlain…

They couldn’t get it past the goalie in the two power plays they had, but with five on five, the St Louis Scarecrows found a hole and for the fourth game in a row, they are taking the lead in the first period.

The Scarecrows surely want to give up this lead again like they did in the previous games and they step up their physical game. Flash Gordon and Alex Meszaros show Robinson and Carragher they shouldn’t even think about holding on to the puck for too long, and lay down some real nice hits. The hits don’t lead to puck possession though, and the Anaheim Outlaws try to find a way into the St Louis Scarecrows endzone. They can’t get past that blue line though, because St Louis is playing a stellar defensive game today and they resort to dumping the puck in deep, and trying to retrieve it.
