Five minutes into the period, Andrey Barbashev II hits Augustus Wang in the Armada zone and steals the puck. His shot misses the net, but there's a scrum as Wang charges toward the Knights forward. He seems to be implying that the hit was really a slew-foot, but Barbashev pleads his innocence to the referee, and there's no call on the play.

Seven minutes in now, and Anchorage is turning up the heat.

Jake Primeau steals the puck in his own zone and makes his way up the ice with a full head of steam. He shoots on goal but his shot is off the mark. Augustus Wang picks up the rebound after it slides all the way back to the point, but his shot is blocked by Luke McSquirrelly.

Primeau, again, places the puck on net but once again he's off target.

The puck finds its way to Jay Reeves, and the Knights defense is completely out of position to block the shot. He shoots!

This is Luca's night! He bails out his defenders, who take their turn tapping him on the pads in thanks as the play is blown dead.

They're playing with fire, folks. The Knights are penalized again. This time, it's Luke McSquirrelly, for holding at 11:31 of the third.

The powerplay gets off to a rough start as the Knights are able to keep the Armada to the perimeter.

Andrei Petrikov is able to get a shot away on Del Vecchio, but it's not enough to beat the keeper, and other than a hit on Gylfi Eriksson by Ryan Cvitkovich as Eriksson was clearing the zone, there's little action to speak of.

McSquirrelly is out of the box, and the Knights once again manage to avoid giving up a goal while down a man.

Surely this has to be the one that costs them? A needless penalty is taken by Kelowna's Nicklaus Engel for Tripping at 13:34 of the third.

The Armada waste no time in going to work on the powerplay. The puck is worked back to Augustus Wang at the point, and he finds an open Jake Primeau, who waits patiently for a lane to open up.

Seeing it finally, he sends a quick pass to Andrei Petrikov, who takes the opportunity to one-time it on Del Vecchio!

But it never gets to Del Vecchio!

Danila Zhernov gets in the way of the puck before it can make it to the Knights goalie, and there's a feeling in the arena that the shot block really did save a goal.

The Knights manage to ice the puck and close out their sixth kill.

Perhaps spurred on by their immaculate penalty killing, the Knights go on an offensive run of their own as the clock is winding down.

There's some action in front of Venables as Kaspertommevisnapuu, Shepard, and Morgan Forestier all send the puck on goal with no success.

Jake Primeau is out to take the faceoff versus Ebenezer Virtanen in his own zone, and with just two minutes left, it's clear that it's now or never for the Armada.

Primeau wins the puck back to his D on the draw, but before the Armada can clear the zone, Kalevolaripaavo Kaspertommevisnapuu knocks the puck down at the blue line and sends a shot in on Venables!
