I maybe wrong but I think your hinting at me. I want to clear this up, and I said it beforein this thread. I'm not trying to tell people they can't take him. I, personally, feel like it would be a dumb move. Especially for a goalie. As we could wait 3 seasons/drafts to get him, we don't have to trade for him. He wouldn't be playing for us anyways, so why not just hold out (if I was him).

I also clarified, that I haven't talked to Storm or PB, so I do not represent any kind of management decision on NEW side. I am all just talking my opinion.

I'm honestly not trying to be a NEW homer, either. I honestly felt the same way about the whole Jala/gf situation. It would have been dumb for someone to take her in the first 3 rounds, because she could just hold out, and then as a GM you just gave up a pick for absolutely nothing.

Come draft time if some team, sees that they would pass/no better option other then Storm, then I have no ill feelings towards them at all, because then they aren't losing anything since the pick would have been worthless anyways.

Also, people are putting this on NEW, but it's ultimately one players choice. Storms.

The reason rule is like it is, is because it's the same way in NFL and NHL(NHL rules are 2 seasons to sitout instead of 1 like the NFL, though for the NHL you can become just a UFA instead of going back in the draft) But as the most famous example. look at Bo Jackson. Didn't sign with the Bucs his initial draft year (First overall), told them BEFORE the draft that he wouldn't play for them, but they picked him anyways and he sat out until next year's draft and signed with the Raiders(7th Round). Do you think the Bucs liked getting absolutely nothing for their first overall pick? Lol. That's my reasoning why it would be dumb for a GM to pick someone they know won't play for them, when they could pick someone else who has a chance to play for them.

Also, I have learned a couple rules in this thread that I haven't seen posted anywhere, that defeats my argument For example, that he can't be GM unless he is on the team. I mean I see the common sense in it, but I personally haven't seen the rule posted anywhere. Also, some said he can't have LR permissions unless on the team, but I know that's not true for some players, but maybe there is a rule that I've just seen ignored so I didn't know it was a rule.

So yes, I can see that he does have trade value if both of those are rules, and I retract all my arguments based on that knowledge.

And once again, I am just a regular player on NEW. I DO NOT REPRESENT MY GMS OR THEIR FEELINGS, NOR HAVE I TALKED TO THEM OR KNOW WHAT THEY ARE PLANNING.

If I was a GM, I would pick Storm every single draft with my highest pick and let him sit it out

The Cant trade was NEW - MIN, not HAM - MIN, so we should have the MIN S26 1st and that MIN S27/28 1st.
