After the faceoff Koning finds Ralchankov for the Russians, shot, blocked by McCarthy. The puck bounces back to Ralchankov and blocked again by McCarthy! What a play by him! And the puck makes its way to the Russian end.

The puck changes hands a few times before a whistle blows when Thomason is on the puck for no apparent reason. Looks like Emond is going to the bin for hooking. I didn’t see the call, it this a make up call from the ref??? Either way we are going to go 4 on 4 for a bit here.

The puck is moved into the Czech end by the Russians as the Czechs return to full strength. Russians still in control of the puck, they take a shot, but it goes wide…

The Czechs get the puck out only to see it put right back into their own end… Thomason gets a weak opportunity at the end of the powerplay but its brushed aside by O’Koivu-Volkova and the powerplay ends.

Not much happens for a minute as the two goalies trade saves, until the Russians make their way into the Czech end in the 12th minute and look threatening. They move the puck around and find Berezin in a shooting lane. His first attempt is blocked by McCarthy, but his second is destined to find the frame of the net, but its pushed aside by Partridge. Berizin picks up his own rebound but Russian has to regroup. A pass is intercepted by Winters and the Czechs relieve some of the pressure.

After a Czech icing the Russians get a faceoff in the check end. A faceoff win sees the puck find Klozoff, but he cant find the back of the net.

The puck makes its way deep into the Czech end where it is picked up by Vent who is man handled in the corner by Bruchevski and the puck is loose…

Scarn picks it up for the Czechs and they are off to the races the other way. Scarn finds Vent, who finds Zadina and he moves into Russian territory. The puck makes its way to Doskocil, who fires…

But misses wide… but Zadina finds the puck in a shooting lane and fires again, this time its tipped in front…

GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Czechia , Michael Scarn 1 (Filip Zadina 1, Andrej Doskocil 1) at 13:32)

The Czechs are up. Again another goal that goes against the general direction of play this time it puts the Czechs in prime position to take home the bronze. With only 6 minutes left the Russians will have to dig deep.
