We enter into the break 2-1 in favor of the Russians with the shots 16-3 in favor of the Czechs. Not their best period of hockey, but they still enter the break on a high, knowing they are 40 minutes from a medal. The Czechs on the other hand have to feel like if they can keep up this pressure over the next 40 minutes, they will for sure get at least one more and be able to keep the Russians … in Czech!

Czechs finally get some possession in the Russian end after the faceoff, but can’t seem to hit the net, missing wide twice. The Czechs dump it deep into the Russian end where it is picked up by Evans who is slammed into the boards by Smyth and his pass is intercepted. Clearly tried to get that away to avoid the hit, but that did not save him at all.
