The two teams line up for the face-off… The puck is dropped and Smyth wins the draw to Czerkawski. Czerkawski skates it into the Russian zone and takes a shot…

Back at center ice the faceoff is won by Berezin to Mozgov whos pass is immediately intercepted by McCarthy and Czechia moves it into the Russian zone.

Poor passing by both sides but the Czechs gain control and go the other way. The puck makes its way to Thomason in his own end, who is CRUSHED by Mozgov and O’Koivu regains the puck for Russia.

After dumping the puck in deep for a change, the Czechs move the puck into the Russian end and change back to the first line. The Czechs move it to the neutral zone where Evans is pulled down by Smyth… a blatant hook, could have caught a Tuna with that one, and Smyth will be in the box for the next two minutes.
