One minute into the powerplay the Knights dump the puck into the Militia zone for quick line change. The puck is retrieved by Mike Hunt who passes the puck to Pokrywka who tries to dump the puck down the ice but it's picked up by Fudge in the neutral zone. Fudge dumps the puck in and Engel goes speeding after it.

Claude beats Engel to the puck but intercepts a pass meant for Pokrywka. Engel passes it back up to the blueline where Fudge is waiting. Fudge fakes a one timer and sends it back to Engel whos winding up for a one timer...

Engel lets loose an absolute bomb from around 6 meters out. Hunt moves across to try and cover but fails to clench his arm and the puck slips through between left arm and his body…! GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLL!! Kelowna capitalize on the first PP of the evening, increasing their lead to 2! The stadium goes eerily quiet as Engel celebrates with his linemates.

Novotny wins the face-off and the puck is picked up by Fudge who moves down the wing and lets a powerful wrister fly down the ice. The shot is blocked by Sarantez. During the next 30 seconds the Knights barrage the goal with shot after shot but none of them are able to hit the mark. Finally Engel gets another go but Hunt see’s the wrister from a mile away, makes the save and covers up the puck. Boone wins the face-off and the Militia manage to kill off a full minute with some timely intercepts and nifty stickwork. Montreal seem to be regaining their confidence on the ice.

Just as it seems like Montreal are battling back the puck is picked up off of a dump in by the Knight’s Nicklaus Engel. He passes the puck up to Fudge in the neutral zone with speed, crossing into the offensive zone! He sees an opening on the opposite wing and passes it to Scherbak who fires off a one-timer that misses the net. Fudge is there to regain control of the puck. He moves in and fires a slap shot at goal but Hunt is ready for it and makes a pad save. The Knight’s pick up the puck once again, circling the Militia goal like wolves, ready for the killing blow!

Some very impressive passing from the Knights leads to a scoring chance from Ranch but Hunt flashes the leather once again with a great glove save and holds onto the puck. This gets the crowd in Montreal going again. The energy is starting to build up again for the hometown team!

Kelowna can smell blood in the water and continue to their offensive push for the remainder of the period but they unable to convert another chance. Montreal were never truly able to regroup after the early assault by the knight’s and it shows on the shot clock. They will be looking to gather themselves and come back swinging in the second.

- END OF THE FIRST PERIOD -

Goals for this period are 2 for Kelowna Knights vs 0 for Montreal Militia.
Shots for this period are 15 for Kelowna Knights vs 6 for Montreal Militia.

- START OF SECOND PERIOD -

The second period starts off slow, both teams trying to get a feel for the other now that the onslaught of the first period is behind them. Around 6 minutes into the period the action starts picking up when Montreal have an excellent chance to cut the lead to one. Rykov intercepts a pass in the neutral zone and gets a pass off to Tedisko who storms down the ice in a breakaway! She’s all alone on goal!

Thorstrom, showing patience far beyond his years, doesn’t bite when Tedisko fakes a shot on the forehand and expertly slides over to snag the backhand with his glove! What a save! Tedisko can’t believe it and frankly, neither can we! What an amazing save by the young Swedish goalie!

Mere seconds later the puck is iced and we have a face-off in the Knight’s zone. Novotny wins the face-off and is promptly flattened by Gold in what might be the hit of the game so far! We certainly expecting that from the young sniper but it’s a welcome surprise!

The Puck is picked up by Gutierrez who tries to move the puck up into the neutral zone. After some back and forth in the neutral zone the Knights finally get control of the puck and push on into the offensive zone. Castillo Gutierrez lets loose a cannon that misses the net. The puck is retrieved by Puhcheese who takes a shot from a sharp angle!

Hunt moves across but is unable to cover the entire net as the puck slips in just over his shoulder, hits the crossbar and goes in! GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLL!! Kelowna increase their lead to three with an amazing sharp angle shot from Puhcheese! What a move!

Montreal are going to need a miracle to get back into this game, they just seem completely drained out there! Kelowna on the other hand are buzzing, momentum is on their side.

Montreal manage to mount a strong offensive push less than a minute after seeing the puck go into their net for the third time tonight but they are unable to get a shot on net. All shots are either wide or are blocked. Nothing seems to be going right of the Militia tonight!
