When we left our heroes the score was 2-1 and the shot totals were 21 for the Outlaws and 16 for the militia. It seems that after the lopsided first the Militia have remained poised and are leading with a great 2nd period effort.
The puck drops for the 3rd period and Westbroek wins it and we are off! This period starts off way hotter than the first two, where it's less grinding and more north south action, with very little zone time but rush after rush. Each rush from one team is stuffed by either Soonika or O'Koivu and then it's sent flying back the other way. The Outlaws even kill off a double minor high sticking penalty from Kennedy after an accidental miss from a clearing attempt with his stick coming to high. ||

The Outlaws make a push after the double minor is killed off and Westbroek again wins another draw in the militia zone.
But Sarantez Rocks him off the draw that looked like it hurt. O'Koivu has been the story of this one thats for sure. He makes the clutch saves when they matter and enables his team to press afterwards.
This time Svensson steps into the circle to hopefully take some pressure off the Militia and it works he wins it! But the Defenders can't get it out of the zone and the Outlaws retain possession in the zone. A nice cycle begins to unfold and they had it off to Gibbles who fires the slick one timer. ||

The puck is still in the Militia zone they can't get it out! O'Koivu is standing on his head at the halfway mark of this period! He wants this win badly
This time its McIntyre's turn to fire it on net but O'Koivu again stops the play. Some people think when the flood gates open they fly wide open. But O'Koivu has looked even better after letting one slip through. Unfortunately Militia just can't get it out and they are exhausted. Slap McShotty finds space and winds up for a huge slapshot! ||

It has been some time since the puck has been seen in the Outlaw territory other than brief moments from icings or failed breakouts. O'Koivu is playing out of his mind and even tho the Militia are getting hemmed in they are holding on. Keeping the outlaws to the outside and whenever one slips by O'Koivu is there to dig them out of it.
5 minutes remaining and everybody looks exhausted. It seems Militia finally has gotten it out of their zone for a moment and Zucker is streaking down the side wall ||
