18:00 - With the Firebirds having a stretch of shooting a bit earlier, the team will be looking to continue the pressure... But the Knights are poised and composed, getting the puck into the Firebirds zone for some action of their own. With Lundberg hitting a hard wristshot at goal!
He whiffs it, and the shot doesn't even bother Kyle Prince, but one thing that would certainly bother him is 'The Maniac' flying behind his net and corraling the miss going for a wraparound! Nope, yet another one wide of the net and Prince must be wondering if there's someone helping or if the Knights are just messing about. He doesn't have time to think about that though because Lundberg is back with a shot of his own! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Why do I even bother making it thrilling when the Knights are so adamant on looking like idiots and missing the net every single time? Well, as much as Lundberg made a fool out of himself there, Maria Maximova was there to find the puck yet again and go for an actual shot, you know, a shot that might actually trouble the goalie... Will she score though, well... Scroll down and find out... Kyle Prince does his best blender impression to save that one in spectacular fashion, how he managed to stop that one, nobody will know! BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT! After that epic save there wasn't anything else going on in the quarter, and I think six parts are more than enough for one quarter, so this is me clocking out of the first quarter... The Kelowna Knights are leading game 3 two to one, but it's still all to play for! Code: Goals for this period are 2 for Kelowna Knights vs 1 for Prince George Firebirds.

Quarter 2:
For the sake of not miring this PBP in misses galore, I will be abridging the second quarter into the latter half since the first part is simply not interesting... 14:00 - Going into the latter part of the second quarter, both teams are still fighting back and forth trying to get more goals, but seemingly it hasn't yet been good enough to break down either Bjornsson or Prince. Vanaja has the puck and is laid out by Luke Fleming who takes the puck and plays it up to Robertson, he goes straight into the Knights zone and is one on one with Bjornsson looking to make up for that failed goal earlier in the game! Noooooooooooooope, and Robertson] sends himself flying out of the building, some say he's still flying to this day! The action picks right back up though, Lundberg winning the face-off and being decked by Bertholds, Cynthia Taylor gets the puck on her stick and goes for it! The old-whiff-a-roo from Taylor who sees Maria Maximova poke the puck away from danger, Stanley is there for the rebound shot though! AND YET ANOTHER SHOT MISSES THE NET! Bjornsson can thank his lucky stars, charms, or whatever else he's hiding in his jockstrap... Hold on! Minor Penalty to Matt Veenstra for Slashing. This is the last thing the Knights can use, they're now a man down and the Firebirds look poised to find the net! The Knights do their best at penalty killing, but a clearance goes completely wrong, giving Cynthia Taylor open ice and a chance to score! Cynthia Taylor has fought hard all game long, and now late in the second quarter she brings the Prince George Firebirds level pegging with the Kelowna Knights, this game is right back to the wire! Code: Prince George Firebirds , Cynthia Taylor 2 (DJ Stanley, Leon Webb) at 14:37 (PP)

Quarter 2:
16:00 - The game is tied again, so that means both teams have a reasonably equal chance to walk away with this win, so what that means is that one team should capitalize now so that they can go into the final quarter with a commanding lead! Minor Penalty to Cayden Lewis for Hooking A chance is thrown right into the lap of the Kelowna Knights, who see themselves get back on the powerplay, where they have scored one time before! But the Firebirds don't take their penalty as a chance to defend, instead they go right onto offense trying to push the Knights into their zone. But that aggressive tactic means the Knights find a way out of the defensive pressure and right into open ice, where Lundberg plays the puck to Timeturner who slaps it, and Koroviev is right there for the deflection! But Koroviev didn't get the screen properly and ends up eating the puck for himself, that's not what they had in mind! The Firebirds grab the puck and dump it to the other end of the ice, giving both sides a chance to swap lines. Svensson is there to grab the puck, but Scuderi shows up and drills him into the boards, playing the puck towards Kristján Viljhalmsson who breaks the will of the defense with a deadly pass onto the stick of Randleman who goes one on one with Prince! Randy Randleman scores his second of the night from a perfect Vilhjalmsson pass, and with that great powerplay goal they get right back into the advantage with a three to two lead! Code: Kelowna Knights , Randy Randleman 2 (Kristjan Vilhjalmsson) at 16:33 (PP) BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT! And the rest of the quarter is pretty much neither team finding an advantage over the other. The second quarter ends with two goals scored, and both teams going tit for tat on offense. The Knights are leading three goals to two, but it could all change in the third (and final?) quarter of play in game three! |
