Great work in the offensive end on the powerplay by Connolly, who does very well to gain the zone, before managing to find Blackwood out in front, and Blackwood makes no mistake ripping a shot by Spector to make it 3-2.

Not long after taking the lead, the U.S. will be trying to defend their lead around the halfway mark now, as Bobby Lane has taken a holding penalty trying to stop the advanced of Finn-Rhys. Huge opportunity for Alpine to level it up!

First minute provides nothing but a lot of failed advanced by Alpine, but Noah Andros gains the zone trying to make something happen here. Andros has found Barbashev II who plays a pinpoint pass across to Vanice for the one-timer.....

AND AT THE 10 MINUTE MARK OF THE PERIOD ANDROS HAS BROUGHT IT TO LEVEL TERMS!

Brilliant piece of composure by Andros in front of goal, not rushing the shot after getting onto a big rebound, and emphatically blasting it beyond Brownlee to bring some life into a rather poor period for Alpine. Great scenes!

The U.S. have been coming out strong since the goal, although Alpine is showing a bit more fight since Andros lit the lamp. An attempted pass by Wachter is picked off by Aklus, who moves it along the boards to Lane, and WHOA! Cassidy Lhotsky has sent Lane head first into the boards, and a scrum has broken here in the neutral zone over it! We wait on the verdict from the officials on this one...

So far the U.S. can't get much going on this powerplay, but now they look to take advantage as it nears the 2 minute mark of the 5. After Connolly gains the zone its picked up by Blackwood. It makes its way back to the point to Clucker, who moves it across to Heat Siecker with the one timed blast...
