Scott Robertson looks furious after a vicious slash from Vanaja, and the big Finn is going to get a double minor for that show of unnecessary aggression. A big opportunity for the home side here, late in the first period! And listen to the crowd roar! (This is where you fuckers make noise. I’ll give you a couple of minutes.) ![]() Registered S28 Challenge Cup Champion

Code: 16:00 of 1st period - Luke Fleming wins face-off versus Jonathan Lundberg in Kelowna Knights zone. PG are feeding off the crowd’s energy, and the Knights are struggling to cope as Koroviev takes a penalty for hooking. We’ll have a 5v3 scenario! ![]() Registered S28 Challenge Cup Champion
The crowd groans as Tricvaidzins loses control of the puck in the neutral zone, but Robinson is able to collect it, and he’ll carry it over the blue line. He feeds Stanley, who looks for MacGregor on the far side. MacGregor will shoot!

PG still on the powerplay here despite the MacGregor goal; can they find a quick-fire second? Fleming tries his luck on the turn but can’t get his shot on net, and thirty seconds later Robinson finds Stanley with a clear sight of goal! Chance! ![]() Registered S28 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered S28 Challenge Cup Champion
End of period
The Firebirds can do no more with the power play opportunity, and as the sides return to full strength the period fizzles out. It’s been a thrilling encounter so far, and we’ll be back after a few brief messages for the second period! Code: Goals for this period are 0 for Kelowna Knights vs 1 for Prince George Firebirds. ![]() Registered S28 Challenge Cup Champion
Puck drop, second period
Fleming beats Vilhjalmsson in the face-off circle, but this period starts at a much slower pace than its predecessor. After a minute and a half, however, Ivar Ogorodnikov is penalised for diving, and PG will have a chance to stretch their lead. For fuck’s sake, Ivar, this is an ice rink, not a swimming pool. 1 min The crowd are really getting behind their team, and PG begin to dial up the pressure. Can the visitors cope? Robertson winds up from the point and shoots! Blocked aside by Björnsson! Fleming onto the loose puck, turns, fires on net! And misses! Kelowna looking a little desperate here, and the puck is laid back for Taylor to shoot! Cynthiaaaa! Maximova with the block! The loose puck falls to Eaves—a shot! ![]() Björnsson snatches that one out of the air, and the Knights survive. ![]() Registered S28 Challenge Cup Champion

Code: 2:00 of 2nd period - Shot by Corey Eaves. The penalty expires without any further drama, and to be quite honest the pace of the game has slowed quite dramatically. It’s becoming a more physical affair, and with the likes of Fleming, Taylor, Flow, Maximova, and Vilhjalmsson on the ice, why would you not want to get physical? ![]() ![]() Registered currently without big titles Quote:Originally posted by Alucard@Sep 26 2015, 04:37 PM:ph34r: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered S28 Challenge Cup Champion

The Knights haven’t really looked like beating Prince since that insane goalmouth scramble that saw Chamas denied by post, body, and goalie, and the Firebirds’ goaltender is there again to save a Tony Flow shot, which is deflected en route by Alphonse Oduya. At the other end DJ Stanley and Sparks Lightning both miss the net, but Kelowna look like they were a little shocked by those late first period penalties and the resulting MacGregor goal. They’re growing back into the game now, though, and Whooves misses the net with a shot. Chamas recovers the puck and works it back to Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler looks to shoot! |
