The rest of the period would be Regina in the Vancouver zone but not many scoring chances. Regina would get a face off right at the end of the period. Off a face off Mclovin would win the draw to Metcalf who draws back for the clapper. Can he make up for his earlier mistake???

In the second the first 10 minutes both teams seemed to have trouble getting any kind of momentum going stuck in the neutral zone. It began to get a little choppy as Shinji Kudryashov takes offense to some chosen words and gets 2 for roughing.
![]() ZzJack's Robot Garcia decides that Regina doesn't need the man advantage and goes for a hook. Did the referee see? ![]() DUUHHH. Both teams will be down a man with a 30 second Vancouver power play ![]() Registered S35 Challenge Cup Champion
Just as Vancouver Power play started there was chaos in front of the Regina net. The puck squeezed out to Jamie Hill at the side of the net. She throws it at the net!
![]() Jamie Hill squeaked one in barely but it still counts. Vancouver dominates at 3-1!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Vancouver Whalers , Jaime Hill 4 (Chance Winston, Mike Abell) (PP) Regina would go into the 3rd hanging their heads and hoping for a strong 3rd period ![]() Registered S27, S29, S32 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered Posting Freak ![]() Registered S35 Challenge Cup Champion
The 3rd will again start out as sloppy as the second. Both teams looked sloppy, missing the net and being intercepted but not many chances coming out of it. Regina would be the first to settle the puck and get some grip in this uphill battle.
Wong had finally held the puck to allow his team a much needed break. Christian Blauch would win the face off for Regina and allow a point shot by regular season reliable David Webb. He draws back and let's go the cannon! NOTHING BUT POST! ![]() Registered S35 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() BUT FELIX STEINSTEIGER IS THERE TO PUT IT IN OFF THE POST. REGINA IS POSSIBLY BACK IN THIS!!! 3-2 Regina Force , Felix Steinsteiger 2 (David Webb, Trill) at 13:47 ![]() Registered S35 Challenge Cup Champion
The Regina bench is buzzing now. You can see the energy go completely on their side and the chances begin to mount and Wong is feeling the pressure.
Code: 15:50 of 3rd period - Trill wins face-off versus Brenden Galchenyuk in Vancouver Whalers zone. Regina smells blood in the water and are attacking the new hard. This surge of energy has Vancouver on their heels and as they are Mike Abell tries to fire his team up with a hit but takes a penalty instead. Regina power play unit is out and can take advantage of this game saving situation! ![]() Registered Posting Freak ![]() Registered S35 Challenge Cup Champion
And it doesn't take long for Regina to put the pressure on early. With Brandon Pomery Quarterbacking the offense. The rookie defensemen winds up for his league known slap shot... but Wong sees it the whole way but he can't handle it and give a rebound.
![]() Regina Force , Trill 1 (Brandon Pomery, Charlie Winchester) at 17:11 (PP) AND TRILL WILL PUT IT IN LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE GAME IS NOW TIED AT 3-3 AND THE REGINA BENCH IS GOING ABSOLUTELY CRAZY and Vancouver seems deflated. Can they pick it up with only 3 minutes left? ![]() Registered S27, S29, S32 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered S35 Challenge Cup Champion
Regina is riding high as the crowd is on their feet rooting for their home team. The face off is won by Regina and moved into the zone. Oliver Metcalf takes a shot but it goes wide but is picked up and passed to Ochocinco who takes another and also chips it wide.
But Mcgraw picks up the puck and circles around the net. It's a quick wrap around that Wong is a little out of position for........ ![]() Barely misses it!!! But the puck goes wide right to Ochocincos stick and the Whalers are scrambling! |
