After that penalty was successfully killed off, both teams begin to back off for several minutes as both coaches need to regain composure on their benches.

However, Seattle is starting to surge. The Panthers win the ensuing faceoff but Ruutu’s pass is intercepted by King. King passes to Winnfield who passes to Miller. Miller skates into the offensive zone and shoots…
As the period dwindles to the last few minutes, Wastlund and Flamel start exchanging words. Words escalate to shoves and both of them drop their gloves! Wastlund drops Flamel with just one punch!
This could be the turning point Los Angeles needs to tie this game back up.
That fight brings us to the end of a scrappy first period. Seattle leads 1-0.
