The opening draw is swept back to Iam Essellemm and the game is underway!

Within the minute we have our first stoppage as an Essellemm pass misses its target for an icing.

The ensuing faceoff is taken by Tony Pepperoni, the Blizzard’s most effective forward and 2nd line center. Sided by Terrance Nova and Boruvka Banananak; defensemen Jordan Von Matt and Brady McIntyre anchor the blue line.

The face-off is won by Pepperoni and cycled around the Steelhawks zone.

There is a build up in front of the crease; the puck squeaks to Brady McIntyre as a screen develops.

Brady McIntyre rattles off a slap shot from the corner…

The puck deflects off of Gabriel Johnson and sputters end over end in front of the net…

Von Matt makes an aggressive play on the puck and eyes the goal…

Kryst pushes across the crease, but Von Matt leaves it back for McIntyre, who holds it before pushing it back to Von Matt who looks to shoot…

It’s tipped in front of the net by Tony Pepperoni and looks to be on cage!

Kryyst over pursues and the puck bounces in! The Blizzard have their first lead of the series and are on the board first! Just a minute in, and Pepperoni (JVM, McIntyre) has put the Blizzard up.

Goal

1-0

7 minutes later, and the puck is in the neutral zone, advanced by FR Finn-Rhys who chips it into Steelhawks zone. Marc Hagan pursues behind the net, and Jax Duggan sticks his leg out to make contact with the Blizzard centerman. Hagan dodges it, but FR takes exception to Duggan’s wreckless play and wraps him up!

Duggan refuses to drop his gloves and takes the serial face-washing as the linesmen come into assess a roughing minor to the young defensemen, and the Steelhawks move to the powerplay. A shirtless man squeegees apricot jam onto his chest and then pushes his boiler against the penalty box glass.

Robert Phelps leads the faceoff and will be taking the faceoff against Hercules Rockefeller.

Phelps passes it back to Tig Murphy who immediately looses one on net...

Goal. Boom. What a rocket. That’s a goal in any sim engine.

The crowd loves it, and the SHL collective groans.

Goal
1-1

*reference, the home team's (HAM) score is always listed second if you're following along and didnt know the layout.

A minute later, the Blizzard are trying to regain their momentum, the crowd is still into it.

After a few failed neutral zone attempts by the Blizzards, both teams go for a line change. With the puck deep in the Blizzard zone, McIntyre carom’s the puck back to JVM who sees a creamy glint at center ice, and passes to it...

It’s Julio! He fields the pass easily and jumps into the offensive for a foot race against his ex Raptor’s teammate, Akashi SixNine…

He winks to his boys in the front row, and dangles...

Tokolosh is around SixNine and gets a backhand shot onto Kryyst…

Kryyst beefs it! The puck sails in between the blocker and the body.
Its a goal!
Its a goal! It's the most narcissistic goal every documented in a PBP. How did he do it? Science can't explain it. This surely has to be the turning point in the series, as the Blizzard regain the lead.

Goal
2-1

Its 3 minutes later and the Steelhawks are frustrated. Facing off in their own zone. Akashi SixNine blocks a Barret Blackwood slap shot.

He’s slow to get up and steps into the slot to pick up the loose puck…

But Samuel Michaud pursues from the other side, getting there in time, knocking Truong off the puck and sparking a break in the other direction!
