Anthony Rizzo was selected in the Homerun derby. He also took part in the allstar game with Hidalgo.

At the end of the season, the Smokies (AA) finished at 30-40, the AAA Cubs finished 55-89, and the MLB Cubs finished at 81-81, which I was pleased with.

Garza and Barney won gold gloves, and Rizzo was third in MVP voting. The Pirates won the World Series over the Jays.

In the offseason, Takashi retired and I lost Samardzija in free agency (for whatever reason it wouldn't let me offer him a contract until a couple of weeks in to the offseason, he chose to sign elsewhere). I have 5 top 50 prospects now. However, this offseason marked the first time I signed anyone noteworthy in Free Agency when I signed 2B Aaron Hill to a 4 year deal worth $13.1 million, I also signed 3B Adrian Beltre (who was 36 at the time) to a 1 year deal worth $4 Million.
