So 20 games in I was ready to call this season a lost cause and get ready to compete the next year or two. Well, I finished 40-34-8, good enough for a playoff spot. I'll now get to the road to this point.

My only allstar was Kane, simple enough. I really didn't do much. I didn't have many injuries, so I won't cover those either, but I did have a couple of waiver pick ups, first:

C Ryan Strome

Strome is 23 years old with 3 star potential and 73 overall. Not a great player, but I hope he progresses well and can fit in as a fourth line center next season. The next claim I made, which surprised me was:

RW Danny Briere

I didn't pick him up to keep him mind you, I felt since I traded away older guys in Hossa and Sharp, I should lose Briere too, there was no need for him on my team, so I did:

Washington was the only team who had a match with Briere, and while I would've preferred getting a pick they weren't interested in moving any, and Detroit had their first already. I do however end up with Schaver who is a 3.5 star potential 69 overall centerman.

I had considered trading Keith at the deadline, but I felt like the team would be better off we me resigning him. We'll see how that goes during the offseason, but that's the plan right now.

So anyway, we finished 15th overall, Edmonton finished 8th, Colorado 12th, and Boston 25th. I'm liking the 6th overall I'll get from Boston and hopefully Colorado and Edmonton get knocked out in the first round. I'd like to win it all, but I doubt it so if I do get knocked out in the first round it won't hurt.
