Ok, eventful second half, looking back on it I have some regrets but in the heat of the moment everything I did made sense.

First was the allstar game, Toews was my lone representative.

About a week after the allstar game, Bachman became injured for 7 weeks, making this the first time I'm really happy I have both him and Crawford

The night before the trading deadline I had a game and after winning entered the deadline at 30-30-5, I abandoned hope for this season and instead wanted to get the ball rolling for the next season. I ended up making two deals at the deadline, the first one was:

The first seemed kind of steep, but Siemens is still young and has great potential and a nice overall where I could see him slotting in one of the pairs next season. I still wanted a first rounder in this draft and knew I had to make a deal to get it done. I did get one, but looking back on it I think the price may have been very steep:

Here's my though process behind this one: Bolly is a center and I have Toews as a clear cut #1 and with another year of progression McNeill and Kruger should be really good #2 and #3 guys, I didn't feel I needed Bolly for 4 more years at almost $5M, especially with Toews and Kane entering FA next season. I feel Beach isn't going to progress much further. The picks are what most upsets me it seems like a lot, but hopefully they're shallow drafts that wouldn't have produced much in the third round.

Soon after the deadline, Keith got hurt for 4 weeks. The season is now over, with the Blackhawks finishing the season 41-35-6 which makes me happy that I sent my pick away but Montreal did finish one spot above me, so not much was lost I guess.
