NASHVILLE LOSE SEASON OPENER, PENALTIES AT BLAME

Oct. 12th, 2012- The Nashville Predators arrived in Detroit hoping to get their season off to a good start, but they could not overcome the extreme amount of penalties they took.
Mike Fisher scored Nashville's first goal of the season at the mid-way point of the first period but that was soon followed by a double minor penalty to Paul Gaustad, which was Nashville's downfall at the end of the game. The Red Wings were able to score two quick goals within nine seconds of each other to end up winning the game by a score of 2-1.
The coaching staff was not very impressed with the amount of penalties that Nashville took throughout the game, with Barry Trotz taking time to speak to the media after the game.
"Obviously tonight didn't go as we hoped. We took way too many penalties out there and we're going to have to work on that. The PK definitely needs work after converting two goals back-to-back like that and that's what we'll be working on at tomorrow morning's practice before we take of St. Louis," Trotz said.
Coach Trotz is expected to make some changes to the PK lines for tomorrow's game to see if there are changes to the result.
The Nashville Predators take on the 1-0-0 St. Louis Blues at home tomorrow night.</li>
