The contrast between the two is that raising penalty shot impacts a very insignificant part of the game, raising checking changes a players dynamic but can still be counteracted and made manageable with upgrades to discipline. Creating a major divide between passing and shooting impacts core offensive gameplay, effecting career statistics and records, a heavy majority of game results and can be clearly traced as the reason behind a given result. I was more trying to point out that adding TPE to something that most of times is seen as wasting TPE for developing players because someone wants it to be higher but no rules for it are agreed on is hard thing to get people to do on their own. For example even if Hamilton had closed cap to half of what they have now and still kept winning would people be happy or would they demand them to stop using the exploit without anyone agreeing that what is no longer exploiting. But you are right on that it is very different cases overall and was not too good of an example. I understand where the negative attitude towards Hamilton comes from and it is easy to see how all that turns them very defensive. Without knowing if there has been attempts to agree on more limitations/rule changes during season it is hard to take this further, at worst case HO tested it out with builds Hamilton have now and they did not perform this good but have been lucky which pours some gazoline to flames, resulting more shit to HO and Hamilton. If Edmonton had bit more luck they could have easily won one or both overtime games and we would have 2-1 series at our hands. Tried to get this together during lunchbreak, hopefully it makes enough sense. ![]() Sigs by @Carpy48, @Nokazoa and me |
