Face-off in the Kelowna zone. Tom Fiddler wins the draw to Ravyn Tedisko along the boards. Tedisko makes a pass to the point, but it’s intercepted by Big Fudge. Fudge makes a stretch pass to Ranch in the neutral zone. Can he break away? No! He’s hauled down by Tedisko. Looks like there’s a penalty on the play.
That’s right Jim, you can’t trip in hockey. Tedisko was clearly frustrated that his pass was picked off, but you have to let those things go.
And Kelowna is going on the powerplay! Can they stretch their lead to 2?

Capp Hatter intercepts a Horvat pass in his own end. He sends a pass up the ice to Weston, who’s breaking hard for the Kelowna zone. Weston attempts to split the D, but takes a wild shot when he can’t get by. The puck goes wide, and Weston streaks deep into the Knights zone, picks up the loose puck and attempts to wrap around and tuck it in on the far side …

Kelowna can’t seem to get any sort of attack together, what’s going on?
Well, I think a lot of the credit goes to the brilliant defensive positioning of the Montreal Militia on the penalty kill. If you watch the replays, you can see they break out of their box to trap the Knights with the double team. And as soon as they get they puck, it goes straight down the ice. That’s smart hockey. Play the body, finish the hit, then ice the puck. Waita kill the penalty.
