McDonald wins the face-off versus Oduya, but Oduya, fully frustrated from the lack of face-off wins by his team, turns about and hooks McDonald as he looked for a backdoor play.
The Mammoths took an unnecessary penalty and must pay the retribution. ![]() Registered S30, S31 and S33 Challenge Cup Champion and Wonderbolt Quote:Originally posted by ThatDamnWalrus@Feb 27 2016, 09:48 PM Doing a jersey change on a MLP photo I found on the internet would really be taking this whole thing to a new level. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member Quote:Originally posted by WZjang@Feb 28 2016, 02:46 AMI swallowed the puck?! huehue ![]() Registered Senior Member
McDonald wins yet another face-off, and Hamalainen tossed it back to the defensemen to stretch out the defense. They are employing an umbrella with active backdoor movement.
However the Mammoths overcompensate for the backdoor play and let Watson walk in to the slot for a shot. ![]() Registered Senior Member
Andrews yet again! He is very good at making himself look big!
The rest of the powerplay was action packed, but the Mammoths were able to shut it down! Code: 11:32 of 1st period - Shot by Riley McDonald. ![]() Registered Senior Member
And now more stoppages of play! I guess I know why these players are in the SMJHL... still don't know the rules of hockey.
Code: 12:43 of 1st period - Charlie Conway wins face-off versus Hugh Johnson in Colorado Mammoths zone. ![]() Registered Senior Member
After the Mammoths won the face-off, Hamalainen reads the pass of the defensemen and tips it in to the Mammoths zone. He walks out of the corner to find Gagner above the tops of the circle who takes a shot. MISSED THE NET
Hamalainen then picks up the puck and shoots it into Andrews' glove! ![]() Registered Senior Member
Following the play was an illogical penalty by Montreal, and to make matters worse... a double minor.

With the powerplay coming to a close, The Mammoths, who have created a ton of chances, did not really test Lewis. Despite that, they were extremely scared of the man popping out the box and Ferkland flicked one on net for Lewis to catch so the Mammoths can prepare for 5v5 play again.

The rest of the period is very much a non-factor in this game, and this period was mainly a chess game. Neither team wanted to reveal too much of its cards yet.
Code: Goals for this period are 1 for Colorado Mammoths vs 0 for Montreal Impact. 2nd period in a couple minutes! ![]() Registered Senior Member
Chips wins the face-off to start the 2nd period and the Mammoths take 4 shots which were all blocked... until Tony Pellegrino steps into a shot that he got all of!

Stopped by Lewis Flood!
Hamalainen wins the face-off and the Impact are going the other way. He drops the puck for Rowe who shoots the puck away from the net for it to be tipped by Hamalainen. The puck travels up... and up... and Andrews fight it up over the net! |
