Hi @McDonaldsPlayplace if I approve you now and before the Trade Deadline (Tuesday, August 18th at 23:59 EST), you will be considered part of the current S56 draft class and be able to immediately begin earning TPE and sign with a SMJHL team. Alternatively you could wait to be approved after the Deadline and be a S57 player and participate in the upcoming SMJHL draft.

Hello @Nhamlet, I was wondering if I decided to wait until the next draft, around when would it be? Also is there not really much I would be able to do in the mean time until I am drafted? Also if I decided to be approved now I would be considered an undrafted player and could sign with any team? I think I would rather be approved now unless it would put me at a disadvantage I'm unaware of.

It could be a disadvantage because you will earn less points compared to the current draft class. All season the other draftees have been earning points whereas you have just signed up. If you wait for the next draft class, you will be starting on the 1st possible day of earning points in your draftckass. Plus, if you decide to be a S57 you can be apart of the Junior draft and the pro draft.

So to elaborate, like Bruins 10 mentioned there are 2 drafts typically. If choose to be approved before Tuesday's deadline, you'll miss out on the junior (SMJHL) draft but participate in the pro (SHL) draft as part of the S56 class. As a disadvantage compared your S56 peers who have been earning TPE since the beginning of the season and for some, a little longer, you'll be behind in terms of TPE earned but get to sign with a junior team of your choice a couple days earlier as an undrafted free agent.

By waiting until after Tuesday's deadline for approval, you'll be able to still sign as a draft free agent for the remainder of the season as a sort of 'trial period', participate in the junior draft and have a head start compared to some other folks in the S57 class at the cost of waiting a couple days.

Hopefully that clears it up.

Hi @"McDonaldsPlayPlace"!

Your total TPE sums to 155 therefore your player is approved!

Because you signed up after the trade deadline but before the start of the playoffs, you are considered a player of the S57 class (you will be drafted into the SHL in season 57). However, for the remainder of season 55 you will be able to sign with any SMJHL team in 12 hours from this post unless the team has over $1M of cap space, which then they can sign you immediately.

Once the current season ends, you'll be eligible for the upcoming SMJHL Entry Draft!

Please also note that as you joined after the trade deadline, you are affected by the SMJHL Rule II.E.2:

"These players CANNOT do Team Training Camp, Point Tasks, Championship Week, Play-by-Plays or purchase equipment for the current season. They MAY do weekly training and activity checks."
