Yeah real life I agree, but i'm just saying in the game, thus far it's worked out for both teams in that Tampa has already gone on to win the Cup. Obviously in real life Tampa wouldn't trade Palat, especially with the season he had last year.
Yeah and he looks just as strong this year too. Carolina wins the trade bigggg time in real life. In game Palat is a stud too. After one year simming as Tampa Palat was up to a 91 overall when I ran through

I definitely don't see it as plausible in real life.

Tampa already has a deep defense

Hedman, Carle, Gudas, Stralman, Garrison, Brewer, Sustr, Barberio

Especially where they now have Palat wearing an (A) I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.

But in game it's as fair as you can get truthfully.

To be fair, the Florida deal is brutal as well. Why would they give up one of their best prospects for an aging goalie that they don't need?!?!

Also, Toronto would have to add more to get Staal in real life, like a first or a stud prospect, not Leo K. I'm not that mad about this trade though, because he's Carolina and got less than market value (or would have if EA didn't make Kadri become an 88 that quickly lol).

Yeah just in terms of the game and how things have panned out, the trades make sense for the most part.

E. Staal to TOR; Kadri, Gardiner to CAR - Toronto gets that #1 center they needed, Carolina gets young pieces in return.

J. Staal, 2nd to NSH; Forsberg, 1st to CAR - Nashville gets the #1 center they haven't had since basically Petr Forsberg and Carolina gets a future likely 2nd liner in return, and the swap of picks makes up for the difference in talent ceilings.

Sekera, McClement to TB; Palat to CAR - Sure, Palat is a stud, but Tampa got pieces back that led to a successful Cup run.

Ward, Gleason, picks to FLA; Barkov, Montoya to CAR - Okay, this one doesn't make any sense for Florida

Beat the Isles in 6, Faulk was an absolute stud, put up 7 points (all assists) in 6 games played, Khudobin was good as well, 1.500 GAA and a .943 SV%.

Have the Penguins in Round 2, and they won 59 games this year :o

Lost in 7 to the Pens, Barkov, Faulk, Semin, and Skinner all tied for the team lead in points with 10 in 13 GP, Kadri and Lindholm had 9 in 13.

With this team continuing to grow I think we could be very very good next season, Appleby might even be ready to backup by next season as well, he was a 79 by year's end.

EDIT: Chicago won the Cup in 2015-16, and Tampa was the Eastern Conference Champ for the 2nd season in a row.

That trade was a steal for Kadri and Gards. Really liking the lineup. You should try to get a top 6 forward.
