Three minutes into the first, we've got Eric Pelletier winning a faceoff versus Robert Phelps in his own zone. The puck shuffles back to Ted Glass. Ted Glass tries to clear but Inari Twain is there! Twain dumps the puck after feeling the pressure from Cloud McCarthy and Dwayne Wyder takes some time to coral it.

Wyder slides the puck on over to Yuri Boyka, who dumps it into the Whalers zone and the forecheck is on. Robert Phelps has his head down momentarily, panics and the puck goes to

TED GLASS!

Ted Glass has an opportunity, will he take it?

TED GLASS GETS PICKED OFF BY INARI TWAIN!

Twain has been a defensive stud through these first few minutes, but the Raiders look to keep up the pressure. Fletcher Carric comes onto the ice and the puck finds his stick after a Twain dump in. Carric stops, looks, he sees a lot of traffic as he enters the Whalers zone. He Winds up

HE GETS THE SHOT OFF!

HERCULES ROCKAFELLER GETS HIS STICK ON IT! IT'S GOING RIGHT TOWARDS THE NET FROM THE HIGH SLOT!

- Whikadoodle - 09-23-2017

Murray is OUT OF POSITION!

After some sloppy play by both teams, we reach 11 minutes into the First Period.

FourFour Jr. goes behind his net to retrieve the puck and give it to Tomas Toothsome. Toothsome is looking to send this puck to hollywood as Pelletier is chomping at the Vancouver blue line. His pass.....

CONNECTS! Pelletier and Wyder all alone!

- Whikadoodle - 09-23-2017

Odegard back, he needs to do everything he can to keep this puck out of the net. He covers Wyder. Murray is dead focused on Pelletier.

Pelletier fakes a pass, he shoots glove side........

- Whikadoodle - 09-23-2017

HE MISSES THE NET! WHAT A SHAME!

But what's this? Odegard looks to be wasting no time! He gets the puck and fires it to Lindqvist in the Neutral Zone! Vancouver's now the one with numbers as fortunes have shifted! Lindqvist, Ouellette, and Odjick coming strong as the legs of Villy and Toothsome are heavy and tired!

- Whikadoodle - 09-23-2017

Lindqvist takes the zone. They look to be taking their time as the Raiders are trying to get men off.

Ouellette gets the puck,

Ouellette back to Lindqvist.

Lindqvist looks, Odjick screens FourFour Jr.

Lindqvist shuffles to Ouellette who takes the ONE TIMER!

- Whikadoodle - 09-23-2017

It deflects off Odjick's skate and FourFour Jr. has absolutely no chance! The Ref has signaled for a

GOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

- Whikadoodle - 09-23-2017

Hold on folks, this isn't official yet. The refs are going to take a closer look to see if the move by Odjick was an intentional kicking of the puck.

- Whikadoodle - 09-23-2017

The SHL rulebook is as follows:

The goal shall not be allowed if the puck has been intentionally kicked with his skate or foot, using a distinct kicking motion, and subsequently enters the net.

The key question is whether or not there was a "DISTINCT KICKING MOTION." The call on the ice was a goal, and unless a DISTINCT KICKING MOTION is evident, the goal will be allowed.
