The Scotiabank Centre is absolutely rocking as Jill Jellybeanov and Chris Smulander coast up to the center dot. Referee Arthur Reed checked with each player as they got in position and dropped the puck to start Game 7 of the SMJHL semi-fina- No.. wait. The faceoff has been waved off. Both centers have been thrown out off the dot and are replaced by each team's left winger.
A bit of a hiccup to start this game but hopefully the referees will be less of a feature going forward. To take the real faceoff, Cody Fletcher faces off against Louie Garrett and wins the puck cleanly.
It was a good faceoff so we're officially underway here in Game 7. It should be a wild ride.

Prince George corrals possession after losing the opening faceoff and after some heavy hitting - both teams are looking to establish a physical presence early - Louie Garrett records the first shot on net for the Firebirds. Jordin FourFour Jr stops the puck with ease but the ice has been broken.
Éric Pelletier is hit by Dani Forsberg after winning the ensuing faceoff and Prince George takes possess- no. The whistle has blown and we'll have a first penalty of the night at 0:29 of the first period. Roughing for Dani Forsberg.
The Firebirds had the league's best penalty kill during the regular season and they'll be looking for a big kill when we return.

Éric Pelletier wins the face-off to open up the power play. The Raiders begin to cycle but Teppo Lehtonen gets his hands on the puck and feeds Zemgus Nylander who clears to safety. Jordin FourFour Jr meanders out of his net to fetch the puck and reset the power play.

FourFour passes to Yuri Boyka Jr. who waits for his teammates to set up. He spots Cloud McCarthy in the neutral zone with a step on the defense and hits him with a beautiful stretch pass. McCarthy evades the Firebird defense at the blue line and skates in on Artom Zhumbayev. He fires a shot and....

Following the power play goal the Halifax Raiders continue probing the Firebirds zone as the teams trade chances but the lion's share going to Halifax.
With just 4:20 elapsed in the game the Raiders ice the puck, though. Prince George will look to capitalize on the offensive zone faceoff against a tired defense.
Jellybeanov wins the faceoff and Nylander corrals a loose puck before eding in on goal and firing off a shot, hoping to catch FourFour napping...
