Back to even strength, the Jets are looking to wrest the momentum from the Platoon, but it’s Prikulis who has to look alert to make two saves in quick succession from Zallerras Szlerchek and Oliver Pettyfer. Still 0-0 here in Game 5, with WKP pushing for the go-ahead goal.

The game is beginning to open up now, and we have chances at both ends! Winnipeg on the offensive, but again Schmidt makes the save—but he can’t hold it! The puck pops loose and Linkos stretches to tuck it past the stranded goalie!

Aaaaaand NOTHING doing on the PP. Absolutely nothing. That was poor.
Final minute of the first period
The Jets have been the better side in the first period, and have outshot their opponents by nine to three, but the Platoon are looking to finish the period strongly as Winnipeg turn the puck over in their own zone. Smirnov pauses to look for a pass, and picks out Szlerchek in the slot!
