It was a wild ride last night as the Colorado Mammoths took the lead in the series with a brutal 8-2 win over the Kelowna Knights. The Mammoths had another game like this when they beat the Knights 6-3, but otherwise this series has been pretty close. Was last night an anomaly, or are the Mammoths really that much better? I'm sure the Knights would like the argue against that! Today, the Knights have to show up big to avoid elimination. Can they push the series to a Game 7? Or will the Mammoths turn their gaze ahead towards Montreal, and the Four Star Cup? All that remains to be seen! <b><div align="center">PUCK DROPS AT: 9AM PST</div></b> - 701 aka YUNG GUAP GOD - 02-25-2016 Let's go Colorado! - 701 aka YUNG GUAP GOD - 02-25-2016 Let's go Colorado! - Jenny - 02-25-2016 ![]() ![]() ![]() - jason97 - 02-25-2016 ![]() - ThatDamnWalrus - 02-25-2016 ![]() - prettyburn - 02-25-2016 ![]() ![]() ![]() (that feels so wrong) - rrireal - 02-25-2016 ![]() ![]() ![]() Gotta cheer on my long-lost twin - engine - 02-25-2016 <div align="center"> ![]() ![]() Welcome back everyone to Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado! We're just about ready to take the first face-off, and if you remember, this could be an elimination game for Kelowna. After a terrible loss to the Mammoths, the Knights are fighting for their continued play-off chances. It looks like we're ready to start, Jonathan Lundberg and Potato Chips are lining up for the face-off... AND WE'RE OFF! Lundberg wins the face-off but Mikko Linna's pass is intercepted. Linna's a top prospect this year in the SHL draft, finished with a great regular season record, definitely a player to keep your eye on. We're got icing called on the Mammoths, so we're taking another face-off here... Tony Pellegrino wins it for Colorado, and they're on the forecheck! <div align="center"> ![]() - engine - 02-25-2016 Some great cycling by Colorado to hang on to possession. Really moving that puck on the ice. Chips dumps the puck into the Knights zone to make a chance. Their second line is out now, along with their second defense pair. Sludge, you might remember, was originally on Kelowna but was traded to Colorado. You've got to wonder if they regret it now that they're down on the series. The Knights almost clear the puck, but Sludge intercepts it, passes to Charlie Conway. Conway moves it into the Knights zone, a nice controlled entry... Mammoths have total possession so far in this game. - engine - 02-25-2016 Conway shoots... STOPPED by Christoffer Bjornsson, but the puck's still loose! Sludge retrieves it, passes to his defense partner BJ Subban, who passes to Jaxson Reynolds, who shoots... STOPPED by Bjornsson, but he still can't control the puck! - engine - 02-25-2016 Subban get possession again! Subban shoots... ![]() GOAL!!!!! Subban puts the Mammoths on the board in the second minute of play! Code: 1. Colorado Mammoths , BJ Subban 3 (Jaxson Reynolds, Sludge) at 1:11 - engine - 02-25-2016 Well you have to wonder how the Knights are feeling now, that play was a direct result of Sludge's solid defense skills. Anyway, we've got another face-off now, won by Dickie Pecker for the Mammoths. Dolph Ziggler intercepts the puck and takes back possession, passes to Tony Flow... MINOR PENALTY TO ALEKSANDER STROMBERG FOR HOOKING. TWO MINUTES. The Kelowna Knights are on the power play! - engine - 02-25-2016 Lundberg starts the Knights off strong by winning the face-off in the Mammoth's zone, and he passes to Tony Flow. Flow takes a big hit from Subban but hangs on to the puck and gets it over to Linna. Linna passes back to Flow. Flow shoots...... ... and it misses the net! Sludge clears the puck and the Mammoths get a change. - engine - 02-25-2016 Bjornsson plays the puck and Jukka-Emil Vanaja picks it up. The Knights move it through the neutral zone and Vanaja dumps the puck in to get a change of their own. The top power play unit's on the ice now, but they can't make anything happen, and the Mammoths kill the penalty. We're back to event strength, folks! |
